About Dr. Hidetoshi.Kasuya

This neurological clinic was founded by Dr. Hidetoshi Kasuya, former Professor of Neurosurgery at Tokyo Women’s Medical University, drawing on more than 40 years of clinical experience in neurosurgery and neurological practice.

Dr. Kasuya graduated from the Tokushima University School of Medicine in 1982. He completed his neurosurgical training at Tokyo Women's Medical University and became board-certified in Neurosurgery in 1989.

From 1990 to 1993, he conducted research on the pathogenesis of cerebral vasospasm following subarachnoid hemorrhage as a research fellow in the Department of Surgery at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada, and in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Chicago, USA, under the supervision of Professor Bryce Weir.

In 2007, he was appointed Professor and Chair of the Department of Neurosurgery at the Tokyo Women's Medical University Medical Center East.

Dr. Kasuya has authored more than 190 peer-reviewed scientific papers as well as around 250 review articles, editorials, and other academic publications.

  • Health Insurance: We accept Japan's public health insurance. We do not provide direct billing to overseas private insurance companies. Patients without Japanese insurance will be charged 5,000 yen per 10 minutes.
  • Appointments: Online booking is highly recommended. Children with head injuries are welcome without an appointment.
  • Diagnostic Imaging: We collaborate with "Medical-Scanning Machida" nearby for MRI/CT scans. If you have previous CT, MRI, or other imaging studies (such as on a CD-ROM), please bring them with you.
